Ashbourne Mini's Campout Next Up on The Agenda

Ashbourne RFC minis are looking forward to welcoming U9 and U12 squads from clubs across all four Irish provinces and further afield for the second Tayto Park Rugby Festival and Campout. The games will be played on the four fantastic pitches at Milltown House.

After the success of last year's inaugural event many clubs who attended have already registered teams to return for the fun event which will take place on Saturday the 24th and Sunday 25th of September,2016.

Visiting teams will arrive from early afternoon on the Saturday and first up there will be plenty of rugby played into the early evening followed by the pitching of tents with the assistance of the local scout troops, dinner ,team building activities and music and fun until lights out.

After a good night's rest the players, their coachs and parents will be able to enjoy a cooked breakfast before heading off to the nearby Tayto Park to enjoy the fantastic new Cu Chullain Roller coaster and the many other attractions of Tayto Park.

If your club would like to register some teams to participate at either or both age levels in what promises to be a great rugby weekend further event details, briefing and costs are available on the Ashbourne RFC Facebook page and at www.ashbournerugby.ie or simply email [email protected] to request.

It is a great way for players to get back together with their teammates after the summer break, in addition the lads create friendships and rivalries with other clubs that they will enjoy throughout their rugby career.

What better way to kick off an enjoyable 2016/17 season.
Ashbourne RFC looks forward to welcoming you and early registration is advised.

Time:              8.00pm

Date:               Wednesday the 8th of June 2016

Venue:                       Milltown House, Ashbourne R.F.C.

Dear Member,

In accordance with the club’s constitution, on behalf of the club I hereby serve notice of the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). It will take place as indicated above, and is essential that we have a good attendance at the meeting. It is open to all paid up full members to take part.

2015/2016 has been a good season with the hosting of the Provincial Towns Cup final last week showing off the club and its membership in the nest possible way, something that we can all be proud off. Our three adult teams and the vibrant youth and mini sections continue to grow and these have brought a lot of new people into the club, which is great to see. The AGM is an opportunity to reflect on the season and look forward to the coming one.

The club’s continued focus has been about developing a rugby structure that will help the club to sustain its own development from within. Using our excellent facilities the club is building the rugby structures to match. The club also again displayed its ability to host major matches for the IRFU and is seen by outsiders as a quality operation. This is down to the club members rolling up their sleeves and delivering a professional performance time and time again. The Executive thanks you all for this. The opening of the 4G pitch this season has added a new dimension to our facilities and has also enhanced the facilities we can offer to the community.

In the AGM is important opportunity to reflect on what has occurred during the season and plan for the upcoming year. The club is also looking for new people to become in the running of the club through the Executive and would welcome this support. If interested please contact myself, or any member of the Executive. Please try and attend this year. We would love to see you there.

A nomination form for an Executive role can be obtained by applying to the Hon Secretary at [email protected]

Yours Sincerely,

Bill Duggan

Ashbourne Retain Provincial Plate Title

Pictures Paint a 1000 Words

Ashbourne create history in being the first side since the Plate inception in 1962 to retain the title. Hopefully next season it will spur us on to go for the big one and take the Cup back to Ashbourne, but in the mean time The Provincial Towns Plate, The Spencer Memorial Cup and The McGowan Cup is not bad haul for a season along with the highest ever finish in the league coming third.

REST, RECHARGE and get READY for next season and enjoy the summer as we need to continue to build on the success

Great work all season from the coaches, management and most all the players of the 1st and 2nd team squads. Without a really strong seconds the first team cannot function so well done to all.

Plus we can't forget the squad of 20's who also did us proud all season along with the players and folks of the Youth and Mini sections. The future is looking good in Ashbourne.

Great club, great people and a great part of the Ashbourne Community

Lets enjoy the Provincial Towns Cup final next week and show the Leinster rugby population what makes this a great club and one we are all proud off.

Thanks to all for a great season!

Thanks to Sean O'Neill for the photos
