Ashbourne take the spoils in Navan
An Ashbourne team made of a selection of the 20's and a number of other players played a return match against Navan, in Navan. Ashbourne had won the first friendly in Ashbourne a few weeks ago and the return was played on Friday.
It proved to be a successful visit to our neighbours with Ashbourne pulling off a 26 points to 7 win. It was neck and neck for much of the first half with Ashbourne scoring first but being pegged back by Navan to tie at 7 all.

Good outing for the Under 15's!
Another great win for the Ashbourne Rugby Club U15’s in the Leinster Cup on Sunday 6th November. It was a close contest for the first half with De La Salle behind by 7 points at the break.
Ashbourne showed their strength in the second half running in 5 tries while keeping De La Salle scoreless. There was some great defense from Ashbourne along with some impressive attacking rugby from the back line who were martialed by Thomas Stewart at scrum half and Ryan Ennis at out half.
De La Salle were very sporting competitors however the depth of this Ashbourne side was noticeable as the second half progressed with little or no drop in intensity as substitutes were made.
The team took to the field wearing their new jerseys kindly sponsored by Blackstone Motors and the coaches & players would like to thank Blackstone Motors for the support over the years.
Ashbourne Women Deliver a Great Home Win!
Ashbourne Rugby Club Womens team played their second match in their Leinster League and their first home game. Playing in front of a great home crowd, they took on DLSP, who were unbeaten coming into this game, having won their first two games.
Fielding a full side of 15, they took an early lead with Kelly Mahon touching down with an unconverted try. Eimear Keaveney scored a second try before DLSP got their only try before halftime for Ashbourne to lead by 10 points to 7 at the break.
After the break Ashbourne really exerted their dominance and three tries by Naoise Smyth gave the home side a comfortable lead. And to round things off just as it started so it ended with a Kelly Mahon try. Ciara-Lee Jenkinson pitched in with a brace of conversions to make the final score 34 points to 7.
The team coach Judy Bobbett said that it was an ''Outstanding performance from the women today, each week we are growing both on and off the field, they are a great group to work with and come down each week eager to learn.
Our sights are focused on taking each game as it comes, we have lots to learn after todays performance, we hope to carry this on to Tallaght in two weeks.''
