Ashbourne 2nds XV advanced to the next round of the cup with a comfortable win at home on Friday night when they defeat Swords RFC by 64 points to 0.
In a one sided game Ashbourne scored 10 tries and 7 conversions with great performances from the whole team. That said Frank Keegan, Shane Boland and Shane Keogh all stood out in the pack while Zbynek Schutz, Jack O’Brien and Stevie O’Neill led the way in the backline.
The game was over in the first half with Ashbourne turning 42 nil ahead and Under 20’s centre put in a star performance with 3 tries, while fullback Stevie O’Neill added two. There were also tries from Matt Connolly, Sebastian Bularda, Frank Keegan, Shane Keogh and Eugene Kennedy. Kelan Toolan pitched in with 7 conversions.
Ashbourne will play the winners of Edenderry and Rathdrum in the next round. Update you when we know.
