Ashbourne 2nds XV followed up their great win last week with a 32 points to nil win over DLSP to continue their good form. The coped well with a number of changes to the side with Charles Coyle back in the side for his first game of the season, along U20 second row Conor Meehan and Zbynek Schutz back after the Christmas break. It also marked the return of Barry O’Neill at fullback, recently returned from down under.
They ran out comfortable winners in the end but DLSP played some good rugby but faded as the game progressed. Connolly continues to play well on the wing and he scored a try. Shane McNulty also marked his presence felt and he too got a try, with his starting the ball rolling. Two other tries from Stephen O’Neill and Tristan Cramer plus 3 conversions and 2 penalties from Captain, Kelan Toolan. This made up the score of 32 points and consolidates their position in third place in the league.
